Sunday School

SUNDAY SCHOOL: 9:45 – 10:45 AM

During the Sunday School hour, our children have the opportunity to build relationships while engaging in Bible stories that contribute to the promotion of faith formation. Children ages 0-4 are invited to join the nursery.

K – 2nd Grade
meet in Classroom 104

3rd – 5th Grade
meet in Classroom 101

During the Sunday School hour, children have the opportunity to learn about God, Scripture and discover ways to learn and serve God. This Fall of 2017, we will be exploring Big Questions for Big Kids! Throughout the summer, children attending Sunday school have been invited to ask a question about God, Jesus and faith. This fall in children’s Sunday school, we will be seeking to answer these questions.

On Sundays when we have The Gathering worship service, children have the choice to participate in The Gathering or participate in Sunday School. Children K-5th grade, who choose to participate in Sunday School will meet in classroom 104 at 9:45am.

Questions from our children include:

  • Who wrote the Bible?
  • Who made God?
  • How did Jesus rise from the dead?
  • How was Jesus so kind? Did he ever get mad at people?

Our children and their teachers will be exploring these questions and more during Sunday School this fall!

Sunday Morning Worship // 8:45 AM & 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary

During these services…

  • worship materials including coloring page, Sermon Story Worksheet, clipboard and crayons are available for children to take when entering the sanctuary. These materials are for children of all ages and intended to help engage them in worship by drawing what they hear during the worship service.
  • our youngest disciples (children age 4 years – 2nd grade only) are invited to continue worship downstairs in Room 104 following the membership moment. They will read a children’s story that connects to the themes of the worship service. Following the reading, children practice “Praying in Color” (a form of prayer that allows us to talk to God through drawing and art).
  • children in grade 3 and above are encouraged to stay in worship with their guardians and use the worship materials and bulletin to help them follow along with the service.
