Each holiday season, FPC adopts children from our local community whose families need assistance with gifts for Christmas. The Lovefeast & Festival of Lights
Sunday, December 7 | 6:00 PM in the Sanctuary
The Moravian Lovefeast and Festival of Lights is a worship service of lessons and carols. Blended Christmas music is provided by the FPC Chancel Choir, Handbell Ensemble, Instrumental Ensemble, and soloists. Individually sealed cookies and hot apple cider will be served by members of the congregation in period dress, while everyone joins in the singing of Christmas carols. This beautiful service captures the joyful Christmas celebration.
Annual Presbyterian Women Christmas Brunch

Every December, the FPC Chancel Choir, soloists, and instrumentalists present a beautiful Christmas Musical Selection at our Sunday worship services.

The Live Nativity
Sunday, December 21
5:30 – 7:30 PM | Parking Lot of Grissom
FPC youth will set the scene of the night Jesus was born with a Live Nativity scene. Come and see real live animals in our manger scene. The Children of the Way will sing.
The Longest Night Worship Service
Monday, December 15 | 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary
The Longest Night Service is a service that provides space for people to express those feelings that we can have during the season that are not always “merry and bright.” In a service that includes meditations, prayers, and silence, we will look for the light of Christ even in our darkest and longest nights.
Christmas Eve Services
Wednesday, December 24 | 5:00 PM & 7:30 PM
First Presbyterian offers two services to celebrate the eve of our Savior’s birth. We invite everyone to come and worship with us and celebrate the birth of our Lord with our church family and friends. Habitat for Humanity Offering is received at all Christmas Eve services. This offering will be used to build Habitat Houses for people in need of a helping hand to live in a decent house.
Children’s Worship Service @ 5:00 PM
This child-friendly service will appeal to God’s children of all ages! We will hear the wonderfully familiar story told from a fresh perspective, sing our favorite carols, enjoy hearing music led by our children choir, bells and Gathering Band. Worship led by Rev. Nathan See.
Traditional Worship Service @ 7:30 PM
The Christmas Eve Communion worship service will be a service of lessons and carols with traditional Christmas selections led by FPC Chancel Choir. Worship led by Rev. Dr. John C. Brearley.

Thornwell Offering
Received the week before Thanksgivng at Early Sabbath and Sunday Morning Worship services.
This annual Thanksgiving Offering is taken to help support Thornwell Home for Children. For decades children from Georgia, South Carolina, and elsewhere have found a haven of hope at Thornwell. Please make checks payable to First Presbyterian Church; Memo Thornwell Offering.
Christmas Joy Offering
Collected in December at our Early Sabbath and Sunday morning worship services.
Received every December, this offering helps and supports retired servants of the church and those facing serious financial difficulty. Assistance is also extended to deserving racial ethnic students in their efforts to succeed and excel in Presbyterian ethnic schools. Habitat for Humanity Offering
Collected at Christmas Eve Worship Services.
With your help, more deserving families will be “home” for Christmas by this time next year.
