09 Jun Early Service Set to Return
At the recent meeting of the Worship Committee, the topic at hand was the return of the 8:30 traditional worship service. With many members requesting this return, the committee sought to make this adjustment as soon as possible. The good news for all persons interested is that the 8:30 service in the sanctuary is now slated to return on Sunday, August 1. While we had hoped to move the date even “earlier” (pun included), with staff vacations in July and some technical logistics to resolve, August 1 became the obvious answer. Please mark your calendars accordingly. This date will get here before we know it…
At the recent meeting of the COVID-19 Task Force, the topic at hand was activities for children and youth. More specifically, the question turned to the wearing of masks for our youngest participants and the volunteers who lead them. Recognizing the low number of cases currently in our community (and almost non-existent among children and youth), the Task Force has now put this general policy in place: For children 11 years and younger, masks are optional; for youth and adults 12 years and older who are not vaccinated, masks are recommended. Vaccinated persons may still wear masks if they so choose.
The Task Force strongly encourages all persons, including our youth, who are able to get vaccinated to please do so soon. There is a possibility that FPC will host a Vaccination Site in the near future. The Task Force will continue to monitor our local situation and will make adjustments to our protocols, accordingly. Please be respectful of others to ensure the safety of us all.
Peace,
John
