23 May Hold That Thought… Hard Hats!
Wow! What a day! There is no way I can describe here the Hard Hat Open House that took place on the Grissom Campus. Some 450 people toured our new sanctuary that is well under construction. The excitement of seeing where we will worship for generations to come was almost overwhelming. Without exception, as far as I could tell, people were most pleased with the progress being made. One person who toured may have spoken for all of us. When he walked around…and looked around…he said, “To God Be The Glory!”
Many thanks to all who made the tour and barbeque a huge success! By the way, the next grand event at Grissom will come in mid-to-late summer when we Raise the Steeple into place! We will give as much notice as possible once we have a firm date. That event will be breathtaking as well!
Many people have asked what we can do to complete the project. Here are the priorities, in some particular order:
(1) Be in prayer. Pray for everyone who makes this vision become a reality. Pray especially for the sale of the Kings Campus. May the conversations we are currently having lead to a contract for this transition.
(2) Pay off your pledge, sooner rather than later, if possible. More than you may realize, completing our pledges on time (or even early!) is most helpful to this effort. Now that we have begun to borrow against our construction loan, contributions made today are especially appreciated. We are counting on the fulfillment of pledges to complete this project.
(3) If you would like to discuss how to designate your Cornerstone Gift ($100,000 or more) in honor or memory of family members, please let me know. Naming opportunities are still available.
(4) Make a new pledge or increase your current one. We are hopeful that many of us will be able to continue the generosity that has brought us to this point. The end is in sight. Together, let us finish strong.
All gifts can be updated online at www.myrtlebeachpresbyterianchurch.org or by calling Teri Grooms in our Financial Office (843-448-4496). Many thanks!
Peace, John
