Dear Members,
As you review your packet and think about your financial commitment for 2027, let me offer two simple thoughts:
(1) Our reason for giving is always in response to what God has given to us. Before you decide what you will return to God, (from whom all blessings flow), consider all that God is doing in your life. That is the first step in faithful giving. Grace always leads to gratitude. Gratitude always leads to generosity. And generosity always leads to joy!
(2) The other reason to be generous is a bit more practical. Healthy, growing, active congregations are expensive to maintain. Your regular, generous giving is vital for maintaining our facilities, expanding our programs, supporting our staff, and serving our community. It is only
through your strong support that First Presbyterian can fulfill its mission to serve Christ in this community, and beyond. It is anticipated that our 2027 Mission Budget will increase by 5%. We trust that our individual increases in giving will meet this need.
You will notice a First Legacy Card has been added to your stewardship packet this year. As we near the completion of a significant building program, we encourage every member to consider leaving a legacy gift to the long-term ministry of our church. This gift will ensure the vitality of our mission beyond our lifetimes. Your gift, whatever size, will help endow the maintenance of these beautiful facilities, as well as additional mission opportunities.
May we respond to God’s grace with grateful hearts and be faithful to the God who is always faithful to us! Your commitment cards can be mailed or delivered to the church office or submitted electronically via our website. All giving records and your intention of giving remain confidential.
Peace,
John C. Brearley
P.S. Our Financial Administrator, Candice Jones, will be glad to mail stewardship materials to members who prefer an option to the online form. You may contact Candice at 843-946-6052 or cjones@mbfpc.com.
