Nursery

Lil Sprouts Nursery: Growing in God’s Garden

6 months through 4 years old

OUR MISSION
While you worship or meet for Bible Study, your child will be lovingly cared for in our professionally staffed nursery. Children will learn that God loves them, God made them, and God wants to be their friend-and so do we! They will have the opportunity to make friends with other children, form bonds with other adults in our nursery, use their imagination, and play in a safe, inviting, and nurturing environment.

OUR NURSERY STAFF

Your child will be cared for by our staff of trained employees, who are eager to form a relationship with your child. Our FPC nursery staff is CPR and 1st aid trained and has passed SLED background checks. Each has proven to be expert in caring for and loving our youngest members. You and your babies will be greeted with love and warmth each week. Our devoted FPC volunteers love to play with our children and make them smile. We would LOVE to have FPC High School Students join our team as Nursery Assistants. Please please contact Macy Cottom, 843.448.4496,  if you are interested.

NURSERY TIMES

Sunday morning nursery is open from 8:30 AM – 12 noon for children 6 months through 4 years old. Toddlers explore and play in Room 102 of the Growing Tree wing. Multi-age nursery care is available for most FPC functions during the week. However, reservations must be made a week in advance by calling the church office, 843.448.4496. Parents are to remain on site while their children are in our care.

FPC'S CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

The safety and well being of your child is our highest priority. We adhere to our FPC Child Protection Policy, honoring the Two Person Rule to the fullest extent possible. In addition to the care and attention given within the nursery, FPC like other area churches employs uniformed security guards to patrol our halls and watch our exterior doors during all major FPC activities.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP

a Sign-In book is located as you enter the nursery.

When dropping your child (children) off, use the sign-in book to write in the following:

  • Child’s Name
  • Parent’s Name
  • Cell Phone #
  • Location of Parent
  • Time of Child’s Arrival
  • Use the same book to sign-out child when picking them up.
CRYING POLICY

If your child is consistently crying for more than 10 minutes and is inconsolable, you will be paged to the nursery. Please respond as soon as possible.

NURSERY CLEANING

All toys are cleaned after each use. All floors are vacuumed at night and the tables are wiped down with a disinfectant daily. Our carpets are cleaned quarterly.

DIAPER CHANGING

Please bring your child’s diaper bag with their name clearly marked on it. We use gloves when changing diapers not only for your child’s protection, but also for the safety and health of our staff. After every diaper change, the changing area is disinfected. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOUR CHILD IS ALLERGIC TO LATEX!

SICKNESS POLICY

If your child has had fever or vomited in the past 24 hours, has colored discharge from their nose or eyes, or a severe cough or cold, please help us keep all of our children and caregivers healthy by keeping your child home. If children show symptoms of sickness while in the nursery, you will be paged immediately.

SNACK TIME

Children will be offered an age appropriate snack while in our care during worship services. If you have any concerns or there are any allergies we need to know about, please let us know when you drop off your child.

Please inquire about childcare availability when registering for all other programs and events. ALL childcare at First Presbyterian Church (excluding Sunday AM) is by RESERVATION ONLY! It is not the policy of the church to provide childcare for weddings or non-church functions. It is not the policy to provide childcare for any functions that are held off-site.
