PW Women

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves;

To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study

To support the mission of the church worldwide

To work for peace and justice

To build an inclusive, caring and loving community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom

The gifts of the Spirit allow us to live and grow into the Purpose of the Presbyterian Women in our own unique ways as individuals.

There are nine circles that meet once a month that are located all along the Grand Strand.  If you are interested in joining a circle for fellowship, Bible study, and mission projects please contact our moderator Carol Featherstone or our vice-moderator Carol Orlando or the church office for more information.  Come and be a part of a fellowship, develop lasting friendships, serve God and His people, and most of all being together in a place Where Love Makes the Difference with other likeminded women.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Presbyterian Women Christmas Brunch

On the first Tuesday in December all the circles come together in Wilkes Hall to gather around the Wassail Bowl and greet the current PW Honorary Life Member.  We gather for fun and fellowship as we enjoy a lovely and festive brunch, an entertaining program, and sing Christmas Carols.  We bring unwrapped gifts for a designated charity.  We collect our Thank Offering that is sent to National Headquarters of Presbyterian Women.

Presbyterian Women Spring Birthday Luncheon

In May of each year all the circles gather in Wilkes Hall for a lovely luncheon and fellowship.  The Presbyterian Woman Honorary Life Member is announced. She is presented with a lovely pin and plaque in recognition of her exemplary service to others in the church and community.  Incoming Coordinating Team members are presented and installed for the upcoming season.  The Birthday Offering is collected and sent to National Headquarters of Presbyterian Women.

Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Member

The Presbyterian Woman Honorary Life Member is a very special recognition given to a Presbyterian woman who exemplifies selfless service to others for the glory of God in all aspects of her life.  Written nominations are submitted to the Leadership and Resource Officer of the Coordinating Team beginning in February and closing in April of said year.

2026 Recipient: Kimberly Griffith

2026 Recipient: Ruth Standley

Do you know a woman who faithfully gives of her time, talents, and resources to God’s church?  If you would like to nominate someone who embodies these qualities, send your nomination (form below) to mlawson@mbfpc.com or drop it off at the Church Office by March 20, 2027.

PW Scholarships

The Candy Webb Memorial Scholarship was established in 2013.  The Barbara Peterson Leadership Scholarship was established in 2019.  These two scholarships were established to memorialize these two women who exemplified a servant’s heart for God and His people, how important it is to be a Christian leader and most importantly loving others like Jesus. Applications for these scholarships open in March of each year and close in May. These one-time scholarships are supported by the contributions from our circle members.

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
